This series was painted at an artist’s residency at Castello Aragonese, a 15th-century fortress in Puglia, Italy that overlooks the blue waters of the Ionian Sea. My landscapes linked to the historical site, but they became more abstract and focused on color and spatial relationships. What was I searching for? Magic.
